ABOUT JOHN NORTHCOTT
I have spent nearly 35 years in journalism, first as a radio reporter, then as a pioneering video journalist. I have shot, edited, and produced stories in over 15 countries and have travelled to some 50 countries in total. I have also taught journalism either as a full-time professor or guest lecturer in Canada, United States, India, Thailand and Japan. I have produced documentaries and network specials, mentored young people, and tried to shine lights on under-reported communities and stories from First Nations, the unhoused and under-housed, to drug issues, HIV, population control, poverty, and crime. I have also spent years covering Urban Issues, such as traffic, transit, and municipal corruption. I have been fortunate enough to meet and interview tens of thousands of people of all ages and from all walks of life in the course of my work. I have enjoyed every minute of it.
