ABOUT JOHN NEILY
Through more than 45 years of varied work experience, my driving passion has remained consistent – to bring out the best in others through genuine collaboration, convincing communication, shared values and strong leadership. I’ve worn many different hats throughout my career – police commander, executive leader, applied research director in public and national security, and management consultant leading major program review and change management initiatives. I’ve been fortunate to work with, learn from, and lead dozens of high performing teams that have successfully delivered on a wide range of challenging mandates. The work performed, recommendations that have been facilitated have been made on the basis of risk assessment and mitigation including recommendations required financial adjustments to individual, organizational or community level initiatives. Over the years, colleagues and clients have expressed their appreciation for the attributes I bring to any assignment: proven team building, strategic thinking, skilled facilitation, seamless project management and a practical orientation that generates achievable plans, even in the face of complex, fast-moving issues. Working with teams or working with individual leaders, I am able to hold people capable of doing their best and challenge them to hold themselves accountable to \"Step Up To The Conversation\". More than four decades of diverse and exciting work experience, combined with formal certification in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University, means that I’m able to provide clients with a unique combination of “real-world” experience and academic rigour. In the past two years I have joined the volunteer ranks of other community minded people as as volunteer responder at the Distress Center of Ottawa and Region. Supporting the resilience of Canadians young and old with the knowledge and compassion that has arisen during a lifetime to date of working with great Canadians in great communities is a pleasure and an eye opening experience everyday. My network of clients and colleagues spans the country and reaches into different parts of the world. I’d welcome the opportunity to talk to you about how my background, knowledge and experience can help you and/or your team to achieve your most important objectives.
