ABOUT JOHN MOTT
John received a B.A. in Microbiology and a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Connecticut. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine, he joined The Upjohn Company (Kalamazoo, MI) in 1985 where he worked on establishing bacterial mediated protein expression platforms. In 1998 he worked for the Pharmacia Company in the Infectious Diseases Discovery group as a Research Fellow identifying and validating antibacterial targets. In 2003 he moved to Pfizer in St. Louis where he established and headed the Cell Line Development Group as a Senior Director. In 2011 he took a two year Secondment with Pfizer Animal Health (Zoetis) in Kalamazoo, MI as an advisor on biologic process development. He returned to the St. Louis Bioprocess R&D in mid-2013 in an advisory role prior to his retirement in June 2014. John has extensive experience in tech transfers, cell banking, bacterial and mammalian expression platforms, biologic process development, internal and external CRO/CMO project management, GMP/QBD operations, regulatory documentation, regulatory interactions, external due diligences, and expression platform development.
