ABOUT JOHN MIOLLA

As a child I remember the fascination I had watching my grandfather work on a construction site. The idea that he was making the city better in some way and could point to his work and say “I did that” always stayed with me. Today, as vice-president of Koler Builders, I still take incredible pride in watching over a construction project and the satisfaction that comes from seeing it through to completion. After earning my Master’s of Engineering and Construction Management degree at the University of Toronto, I set out on an incredibly rewarding career. Over my 40-years of experience, I’ve touched all aspects of construction management from site superintendent and project manager to running my own construction consultancy. I’ve overseen large renovation and conversion projects in the hospitality industry including renovating 500 suites at Toronto’s Habour Castle hotel in record time and more recently the complex conversion of Toronto Four Seasons hotel in Yorkville. Along the way I’ve worked for some of the most respected developers in the industry including Tridel and the Urban Capital Property Group. My passion for learning and teaching, keeps me current on the latest construction innovations and certifications. Outside the office, I’m a part time professor of the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management at George Brown College in Toronto. I’m also a member of Professional Engineers Ontario and the Canadian Construction Association. My credentials include Professional Gold Seal Certified, General Project Management, Canada Green Building Council – LEED Accredited Professional and ADR Institute of Ontario – Chartered Arbitrator (C.Arb) I enjoy making new contacts so please reach out on LinkedIn.
