Commercial Manager of Volker Lasers Steel and Bridge division, overseeing the commercial team comprising of Quantity Surveyors of varying levels of experience, reporting directly to the divisional director. Responsible for projects including bridge replacement, bridge repairs and repairs, modification, and new steel structures. Notable projects such, maintenance and repair of Severn and Newport Bridges and the refurbishment of the oldest suspension bridge in the United Kingdom. As Commercial Manager my responsibilities included the preparation and presentation of monthly reports to the business unit director and upper management. Advising, negotiation and preparation of contracts with clients and key supply chain partners. Overseeing financial and contractual management of projects, including but not limited to staff allocation to projects dependent upon resource and ability, monitoring of monthly CVR’s and project margins, overseeing preparation of monthly applications to the client, leading on commercial issues and disputes, preparation, and approval and issue of all contractually notifications issued on behalf of the business.
