   Director of non-profit agency providing housing solutions, support services and counseling for older adults, persons with disabilities and others in need. Social workers and trained volunteers assist individuals maintain their independence with dignity, alleviate isolation, and promote physical and emotional well being. Staff provides integrated senior support, geriatric counseling services plus pro-bono legal, Medicare, financial and employment counseling. Over 300 volunteers provide a variety of program tasks including weekly friendly visits and daily telephone reassurance calls to the isolated elderly and support for their family caregivers. The agency\'s services last year included the Senior Companion Program to assist the isolated elderly, Chore Aides providing light housekeeping and meal preparation to over 300 older adults, a weekday Nutrition and Life Enrichment program at the Des Plaines library and two Memory Cafe\' locations providing a comfortable place to assist adults affected by memory loss and their care partners featuring Art, Music and Dance Therapy. The Center also provides affordable transitional housing solutions including Homesharing, a Transitional Housing program for the homeless, Emergency Homelessness Prevention assistance.
