ABOUT JOHN MARTIN

I am passionate about leading people. I have over 20 years of experience in leading all types of people in various organizations. I enjoy building relationships with individuals, getting to know their strengths (as well as their weaknesses) and helping them develop into a vital part of the organization. I believe that true leaders must have integrity, honor, accountability, and trust. I strive every day to make certain that I live a life that embodies trust and I keep my integrity and honor in check by making myself accountable to others within the organization. I am also dedicated to developing my leadership skills so that I am able to bring out the best in those whom I lead by taking advantage of training opportunities and classes for personal development. I lead by example but not always from the front. Leading a team does not mean that I have to always be in the limelight, but it means that I show my team the path and that I work to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to negotiate the path. It means that I may not always receive the credit for a job well done, but if anything goes wrong, I take responsibility and ownership of the situation; even if the results are not favorable. I present examples before my team not to overpower them but to empower them with the ability to discover creative solutions to different situations. I may celebrate the victories in quiet but take the front-line when the team is in jeopardy. I believe that the secret to my personal success is in helping all the members of my team to become successful. I strive to do this, not through barking orders, but by coaching them and developing their skills. I am grateful to be part of an organization that values integrity and leadership development. I am delighted that they invest in their leaders and give them the tools to be successful. It is truly a GREAT experience! Leadership is not always easy, but if done properly it is worth the effort!
