About John Magness
I am an engineer dedicated to innovation and problem solving with a piqued interested in all things biotechnology. My education is in biotechnology (MPhil, Cambridge University) and chemical engineering (BS, University of Arkansas). I genuinely love the chemE discipline (I transport phenomena the most) and have a knack for public speaking and communicating difficult technical subjects to diverse audiences. At Cambridge my master\'s research investigated the nanomaterial capabilities as a drug delivery system. The research focused on studying toxicity, endocytosis, and permeability using a 3D lung cancer cell model. My favorite classes were technology management (business), pharmaceutical engineering, and systems (computational) biology. Since graduating I have spent a considerable amount of time developing my programming skills which has culminated in building a few websites, many data processing pipelines for my current professional role, and an artificial intelligence model for predicting organic molecules\' aqueous solubility using SMILES identification and cheminformatics.
