Oversee unified R&D and engineering efforts of Blackwing subsidiaries: IEC Infrared Systems LLC, and Precision Remotes LLC. Identify and develop new products and technologies. Engineer complex electro-mechanical surveillance and force protection systems, with associated system architecture, image and geospatial/GIS data processing, motion control, power management, and data processing/transport/storage. Personally develop prototypes of distributed control, data/image/signal processing, and user interface software, using C/C++, C#, Python, Kotlin, Rust, and NVIDIA CUDA. Support engineering and operations staff of 40+, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, buyer/planners, technicians, assemblers, and quality personnel. Work with customers and vendors to define product requirements and design specifications. Work with sales and business development staff to produce white papers, pricing, proposals, and bids. Support demonstrations and trade shows, and assist with the creation of marketing materials. Direct IT and HR staff, and support the company’s pursuit of ISO 9001 certification.
