About John Lugaila

At around 10 years old, my dad started teaching me how to work on cars and houses. I learned everything from basic electricity to more advanced carpentry skills, concrete finishing, roofing and the ins and outs of cars. These skills that he taught me from a young age carried me through my entire career in the construction industry. The most important things he taught was to install everything correctly and to be upfront and honest with everyone. Thanks Dad! The day after I graduated high school in 1991 I joined the laborers union when the Greater Pittsburgh international airport was being built. I worked as a laborer at the airport and various other jobs until 1994. Then I was accepted into the Steamfitters LU 449 apprenticeship class and currently work as a Steamfitter. As a steamfitter I have been privileged to learn how to install every thing from a 1 ton cooling split system residential to a ton chiller plant at the BST building for UPMC, or a BTU residential furnace to a per hour steam boiler plant at Duquesne university (currently Cordia energy) All HVAC equipment and piping large and small I have worked on or had my hands on at some point of my career. In my career I have held positions such as apprentice, journeyman, foreman, superintendent, estimator and project manager these experiences and roles have taught me, as my dad did, to do everything correctly and to be upfront and honest with everyone.
