About John Leeds
I am a junior at Whitman College, where I am majoring in Computer Science. I am interning at Jane Street this summer and will start full time upon graduation.I am constantly learning about computer science and applying my knowledge whenever possible. For example, I developed and implemented an algorithm to optimally solve Wordle in 3.42 guesses on average. I created a Discord Bot that can predict a user’s typing speed throughout any text. I also wrote a Rubik’s Cube solver in order to generate scrambles for my website to teach people Rubik’s Cube speed-solving algorithms.Some of my accomplishments have been- Being elected to be a Sophomore captain on the Whitman College swim team - Placing 2nd at the Northwest Conference Championships in the mile; First Team All-Conference; All-NWC Scholar Athlete - Gaining subscribers, views on my YouTube channel after becoming the first person to type 200 words per minute with the Dvorak keyboard layout - Achieving a time ranked in the top 100 of all time in the United States for solving a 4x4x4 Rubik’s Cube blindfolded; memorized, blindfolded, and then solved six Rubik’s cubes simultaneously
