About John Leary

Spanning a 25-year career centered on transforming the finance function, John has worked to shape technology innovation, process improvements and advanced analytics for corporate finance functions. He has overhauled many long standing business processes. Additionally, he worked in a corporate internal audit department as manager of internal controls under Sarbanes Oxley 404. An accountant by training, John has worked most of his career in large corporations in the space between all aspects of the finance function and their relationship with Information Technologies. Notable accomplishments include- Automating the FP & A function using multidimensional OLAP software and migrating financial consolidations of a multi-billion dollar company with a complex entity and reporting structure to a modern consolidation software- Managing a global and complex cost accounting function through a migration onto SAP followed by several M&A activities and subsequent SAP and Data Warehouse system upgrades- Serving an integral role in several SAP upgrades, business unit acquisitions, and carve outs- Leading the corporate consolidation function and taking two corporations through several system upgrades (TM1, HFM, BPC, OneStream), transformational process improvements, and significant sized mergers.John remains a hands-on leader, facilitating the technical accounting, while leading his team with vision and strategy. John is process focused, very familiar with most of the manufacturing company business process cycles, and utilizes several tools from Six Sigma, LEAN, and Arbinger Institute to drive effectiveness and efficiency. John holds a MS in Professional Accounting, undergraduate degrees in Management and Marketing, and has completed executive education courses at The Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. He has an outgoing personality, enjoys leading teams, and especially values opportunities to unlock the potential of people, systems, and processes.
