Supervise the accounts payable and cash collections staff; assist accounts payable with the coding of vendor invoices and the authorization of final payments to vendors, as well as existing patients and insurance companies • Serve as a liaison between the school and T. Rowe Price with respect to the company sponsored retirement plan; communicate frequently with T. Rowe Price to discuss significant plan changes and audit related issues (i.e. ADP, ACP and Top- Heavy testing) • Prepare journal vouchers, in a timely manner, for various accounting tasks (i.e. 401K contributions, cross-departmental printing costs) and import these journal vouchers into MIP, the school’s accounting program • Communicate frequently with the school’s Director of Research to account for various projects that receive grant funding from the State of Maryland; as a result of this communication, utilizing Quantum, the State’s accounting program, request monthly payments from the State of Maryland on behalf of these projects • Assist senior management with budget and revenue related projects, the documentation of internal processes, the research and resolution to any outstanding tax issues and the ongoing review and maintenance of the credit card machines within the school’s various clinics
