ABOUT JOHN LAUDER
Programme Manager - A Railway for EveryoneI’m leading the programme to embed the Railway for Everyone programme across Scotland. Focusing on accessibility, engagement, collaboration, and delivery. Assisting the transition to a low carbon service and contributing to a net-zero economy through an integrated public transport offer. I am operationalizing strategy to make a difference. Focusing on a people-focussed rail network across Scotland, including delivery of the Sustainable Travel to Stations strategy (STtS), its Easy Read version, and the forthcoming Accessibility Strategy. Scotland’s Railway is dedicated to net zero, low carbon, increasing accessibility, growing passenger numbers, and delivering sustainability. I’m really excited to be joining the Strategic Planning team led by Catherine Hall, working alongside Richard Malloy and a group of excellent colleagues.Leading the development of STtS has been a delight, particularly collaborating across public and private sectors. I will continue to engage and collaborate with funders and stakeholders to make it easier for people to walk, wheel, cycle or take a bus, a coach or shared transport to, and from, our stations. I am working with our train operating colleagues, particularly ScotRail, focusing on a seamless journey from front door to seat. Continuing good collaboration with local authorities, regional transport partnerships, bus and coach operators, connectivity commissions, and planning bodies. I make sure we have a focus on evidencing and communicating how transport integration can deliver a low carbon shift away from short trips by private car, supporting wider government objectives such as the 20% reduction in car kilometres by 2030.
