Responsible for the technical qualification and build acceptance for a new build DP3 deep-water drilling and completions semi-submersible unit. Vessel is state of the art and will be the first drilling vessel to achieve DP3 and the ER Notation from DNV.(ER = Enhanced Reliability regarding electrical power generating systems) Duties as per normal Technical Superintendent for new build vessel working closely with the build team and the operational crew into the commissioning and acceptance phase of the delivery.Key member of the Safety Case preparation team that will prepare the document for UK HSE approval to allow drilling operations in UK waters.
