ABOUT JOHN L. BURNS

Dr. John L. Burns Jr. MD is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and President of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, one of the largest plastic surgery group practices in the United States. Dr. Burns dedicates his practice to aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Burns graduated summa cum laude from the Research Honors Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Dr. Burns then completed his plastic surgery training in the integrated program at UTMB and became the first plastic surgeon in the United States to complete a fellowship in laser surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSWMC). Dr. Burns maintains an active interest in academic plastic surgery as a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at UTSWMC Department of Plastic Surgery and through the Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. Dr. Burns is nationally known for his expertise in Laser Surgery, Breast Augmentation, and facial rejuvenation, including the use of neuromodulators and soft tissue fillers. As President of DPSI, Dr. Burns is interested in the advancement of cooperation between industry and private practice with the goal of improving the safety of efficacy of relevant devices, drugs, and procedures. Dr. Burns is married to Ann Burns, a graduate of Wake Forest University and The University of Texas Law School. Ann is a Trademark Attorney. Dr. Burns and Ann have three wonderful children; Jack (13), David (11), and Lucy (8). Dr. Burns is a member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. Dr. Burns is an elite masters marathon runner and competes annually in The New York City Marathon and The Boston Marathon. Dr. Burns has a personal best time for the marathon of 2:45.
