ABOUT JOHN KELLY

Successfully completed BSc (Hons) in Computing at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT). I also had a part-time job at an auto-repair garage, working as a panel beater and office admin for a number of years, with additional work and time I spent in the HSE. In LYIT, I worked with languages and technologies such as Java, Javascript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, Visual Basic, Linux, Cisco networking technologies, VMware and many more tools. I used new technologies to develop my final year project which is, creating a remote access security system on a mobile device using a Raspberry pi. I challenged my abilities and teaching myself python, OpenCV, SQL new networking techniques to secure the network and new testing tools and methodologies I have become aware of in DevOps and software engineering. I am a very active and outgoing person and involved heavily in sports. I am a keen sportsman and ambitious athlete in my discipline in athletics. I have achieved multiple All-Ireland titles and records both nationally and internationally as a shot putter and have had the pride of representing my country at World, European and other major championships, I also aim to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. I am also very keen on volunteer work and giving back to the community I coach children in the local athletics club in Finn valley and I have also previous volunteering experiences such as St.Bernadettes special needs school and I am a keen member of the Charity organization set up in the workplace, SITA (CSR), partaking and planning in a number of events. I have always had a passion for computing and a willingness to learn new technologies and expand myself to the best of my abilities in all areas of life. I have a particular interest in areas such as Solutions, Analytics, Test (Automation/Manual) and Business and Product Development.I have worked with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Azure cloud and DevOps platform, creating and managing environments for customers. Additionally, to this, I am involved with Design and Business Development of the FIDs (Flight information Displays) products offered by SITA. I currently work as a QA Automation engineer with FIDs. Using technologies such as Cypress, mocha, Chia and typescript for automation testing and HPQC for manual testing. A lot of the skills I developed whilst working in the product team have been transferred over and I still operate a lot of Azure and Kubernetes tasks.All inquiries to j••••••••@gmail.com
