Boston Ground Water Trust has been instrumental in eliminating water losses by identifying likely areas of leakage (infiltration inflow) through storm water and sewerage infrastructure) and returning storm water to the subsurface, both of which have been effective in restoring water levels in Boston\'s Groundwater Conservation Overlay District. The work is critical to protecting the integrity of shallow wood-pile foundations in invaluable, historic properties of Boston\'s Back Bay and parts of Beacon Hill, the North End, the South End, Chinatown, and the Tremont District.
