From 2023, John has acted as Project Director of the Amey Consulting Airports Infrastructure Team, providing leadership, strategic direction, resource coordination/allocation, and technical design advice, and undertaking client liaison and Principal Designer duties. John has been charged with leading the revival of this team, integrating the existing expertise of the team, and engaging more with the graduates and engineers who might take an interest in this more practical side of engineering. He is growing the local support base for this UK work and giving access to trained and interested staff to assist in delivery on these critical infrastructure projects.

Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng FIEI) with 20 years experience in highways asset management, pavement, drainage and highway structures. Project Director of Highways and Airport Infrastructure at Amey and current Chairperson of Engineers Ireland Northern RegionI am the Lifecycle lead for DBFO (Design Build Finance Operate) Package 2 in Northern Ireland, providing asset management expertise to the 30 year, £1.04Bn contract, including inspecting, programming and project managing annual Pavement, Structures and Ancillary Asset repairs, examining and improving Operator protocols, and providing the Client with appropriate technical knowledge. I am responsible for managing the SPV Lifecycle risk profile on new and existing assets, managing the Lifecycle budget, whilst ensuring full contract compliance. I have been delivery lead of Amey Airports Infrastructure Team since 2023, providing: leadership; strategic direction; resource coordination/allocation; technical design advice; client liaison; and CDM Principal Designer duties. I lead the team that provides support to schemes at major UK airports, including: Edinburgh; Glasgow; Aberdeen and Southampton. I integrate existing team expertise and engage with graduates and engineers, growing the local support base for our UK work and giving access to trained and interested staff to assist in delivery of our critical infrastructure projects.I have excellent technical skills and I am responsible for developing and maintaining Client relationships and confidence to deliver sustainable business performance. I have a comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry and asset management service sectors. I have extensive experience of complex large scale infrastructure contracts managing assets to deliver value and returns to shareholders.I have been involved in Laser scanning and reality capture since 2018 with the Leica BLK360 and BLK2GO on a number of highways and infrastructure projects.
