About John Berney
Jack returned to Northeast Ohio as a Multimedia Journalist for Spectrum News 1 in February of 2025. Prior to that, he was the weekend sports anchor and a sports reporter for WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana for 2 years. Before beginning his professional career in the Hoosier state, he was an Honors student at Kent State University obtaining a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sports Administration. He was heavily involved in student media at Kent State as the Sports Director of TV2 News and previously was an executive producer, producer, and on-air reporter for the station. He announced College Basketball broadcasts on ESPN 3 and ESPN Plus through Kent State Teleproductions. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, he worked for the Akron RubberDucks as a production team member. Jack also hosts a weekly, independent sports podcast. Jack graduated in December of 2022 and began his professional career in sports broadcasting.
