ABOUT JOHN ANDERSON

I build connections between people and institutions. In my prior development work, I aligned alumni and donors with initiatives that advanced shared priorities. Now, I guide students toward good-fit programs. My professional roles in higher education, fundraising, and at the intersection of the two have taught me many important lessons about intentional relationship-building and effective communication, for which I am grateful.As an Associate Director of Admissions & Financial Aid at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, I support the recruitment, selection, and scholarship stewardship for graduate programs in global affairs, primarily focusing on the Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy and the Master of International Business. I have a decade of experience in higher education administration and nonprofit management, working closely with talented students, donors, faculty, staff, and other partners to further important educational missions. Colleagues value me for my reliability, flexibility, sound judgment, and thoughtful engagement. I am motivated by a deep belief that higher education is a net good for society.Alongside my full-time role at Tufts, I enjoy working in other higher education contexts when possible and appropriate. To date, I have evaluated over admission files as a seasonal reviewer for institutions such as Harvard Law School, Yale-NUS College, and Brown University, as well as many scholarship applications for organizations including QuestBridge and Point Foundation. I also serve as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education (HGSE), where I support courses in strategic enrollment management and higher education leadership. I hold an Ed.M. from HGSE, where I concentrated in Higher Education, and a B.A. in Music and Marketing from The College of William & Mary; I am a proud product of Virginia\'s public school system. Outside of work, I enjoy playing cello, singing, exercising, volunteering, and traveling. Let’s connect!
