As an American of Oaxacan descent, my current artwork explores the responsibilities and cultural intersections of Zapotec (Oaxaca), American and Mexican cultures. My paintings intend to inspire interactions of Oaxacan identity in America, in my case Los Angeles. Though I belong to many cultures and many traditions; I cannot claim one exclusively and none would definitively claim me as their own.
