About John Hern

As a corporate attorney and former CEO of Clark Hill Law, I’ve had the privilege of leading and growing a regional, Michigan-based law firm into a global AM Law 200 firm, growing our firm\'s revenue by more than 10x. My broad experience extends beyond a global mergers and acquisition practice, and includes advising clients on antitrust laws, forming joint ventures, and implementing business strategies for scale and growth. My journey has been deeply rooted in my commitment to excellence, integrity, service, and faith. These values stem from my early days in Catholic school, which has significantly shaped me and instilled a sense of purpose beyond the boardroom.But there is more to my story. Music has always been my sanctuary and constant throughout my life. From my early years strumming on a Yamaha acoustic guitar to busking street corners in Canterbury, England, music has been a source of joy and inspiration. For me, the power of music transcends my professional achievements and gives me an outlet to communicate the divine and express the power of the Spirit in a personal way.I’ve always been passionate about giving and serving my community. In addition to my legal career, I’ve invested in many small and start-up businesses, served on a number of boards, and continue to engage in the broader business community through consulting engagements. These enriching experiences provide me with new perspectives that allow me to contribute to the success of other businesses and continually grow as a leader.Today, I continue to embrace the magic of music while dedicating myself to the business and legal fields. Whether in the boardroom or on stage, I strive to bring the same energy, creativity, and dedication to everything I do.
