ABOUT JOHN HEIMSOTH

John oversees the Internal Audit function for WaterStone Bank who has over 10 years of working for, and with, numerous privately- and publicly-held financial institutions. Prior to joining WaterStone Bank, John provided a wide range of risk advisory services for the Financial Services sector during his time in Charlotte, NC and the Great Lakes region. These services include, but are not limited to, working with many Community Banks and SEC financial service corporations in executing methodological reviews of the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses assisting multinational financial services corporations with their compliance of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations required by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), credit administration consultation, and Interest Rate Risk and liquidity management reviews. John’s industry knowledge is rooted in his financial statement assurance services background, where he was involved with multiple integrated audits (10-K) and reviews (10-Q) for SEC publicly traded financial institutions. He has also performed project management oversight and consultation for multinational financial service organizations around the area of Regulatory Reporting for CCAR and Stress Testing (specifically Data Validation, Data Quality, Qualitative Risk Assessment Review and Projections of Capital Adequacy). Outside of his job-specific responsibilities, John enjoys conducting new hire and industry specific training-internally and externally, and actively pursues his other passion in life- to provide as many children as possible the knowledge and resources needed to receive a quality education and opportunity to reach their full potential.
