About John Hatem

I have 20+ years of experience in the computer infrastructure and telecommunications fields. I have a deep skill set in technology (CCNA/AWS/VMWare certifications), telecommunications (fiber/small cell) and project management areas. For the past 4 years, I have been managing complex agreements with cities, exchanging Verizon goods and services for ROW access and ease of network buildouts. This includes Designing and implementing complex technologies. I managed multi-year engagements including the migration of thousands of computers (physical and virtual) to Verizon. I was the lead engineer for Verizon’s partnership with JetBlue (Verizon took over and migrated their entire infrastructure; a $400M engagement that continues to this day) and Kaiser (Verizon implemented a customized internal voice system for all internal and external phone systems, also still a major client). This included virtual infrastructures, operating systems, networks, storage and backups, as well as hundreds of applications. In my more recent role in the Agricultural Technology side, I designed and implemented Verizon IoT solutions in Napa Valley vineyards. Preparing and leading client technical presentations, including technical presentations in the areas of telecommunications (5G, LTE, fiber, site deployment for Verizon) and for computer systems infrastructuresManaging Contracts, SOWs, and Change Order processes for both customers and vendors; understanding customer needs and write SOW’s, which required an understanding of resource management, contract language, delivery timelines and cost estimation.Timely Documentation Updates, including updating weekly city calls, weekly internal calls, monthly utility calls and 1:1’s, along with internal presentations on a monthly and quarterly basis to create summary reports of our progress. I have worked with dozens of Verizon divisions and skill sets, including Systems Administrators, SAN administrators, Network Engineers, Wireless Engineering, One Fiber, Site Acquisition, Finance, Government Affairs, Accounting, Legal and Contract administration. I hold a doctorate in computer science and engineering from the University of Connecticut as well as a bachelor’s of science (dual majors with math/computer science) from Boston College (graduated from the honors program). I will bring my technical skills, project management skills and knowledge of Verizon’s businesses to any role.
