About John Hartung

John is an executive with more than 30 years energy-related experience, advising and supporting clients on a broad range of issues, including oil and gas exploration and production, renewables, retail/commercial strategy, refining and downstream supply and logistics. John is currently a Senior Managing Partner and Vice Chair at Accenture and is a member of the Firm\'s Reinvention Executive Advisory Council (REA). He also leads the US Energy Strategy Practice and is located in Houston, Texas.From July 2016 until June 2021, John Hartung was a managing director and principal in the Houston office of EY-Parthenon. During his time at EY-Parthenon held a number of management positions in EY/EY-Parthenon including leading EY\'s Global Oil and Gas Transaction Practice, EY-Parthenon\'s Americas Oil and Gas Strategy and Transaction practice, and EY\'s West Region Strategy and Transactions business. Prior to joining EY-Parthenon, John was a partner and managing director at The Boston Consulting Group for 6 years in their Houston office. Before BCG, he was partner at McKinsey & Co, where he spent 10 years working on energy-related issues in Asia, Europe, and North and South America. He also spent 11 years working at Mobil and ExxonMobil, where he held a number of management, operating and planning roles.
