I am a retired student athlete and graduate of Wofford College with an interest in the healthcare and life sciences industries. I want to develop and combine my medical and business interests throughout my career progression. I have had numerous roles occupying the clinical, laboratory, administrative, and the teaching/mentoring workspace and hope to gain some business experience as well. As an MD/MBA candidate, I plan to drive the innovation of health care on the front lines as a physician as well as behind the scenes in the business arena. In my free time, I enjoy engaging in my creative side by doing photography & videography, challenging myself by reading personal development books & working out at the gym, and relaxing by listening to music & watching TV shows. Under Dr. Joan Steitz, I am studying the molecular biophysics and biochemistry of Elements for Nuclear Expression (ENEs). I am analyzing the structure and function of these ENEs, which are RNA elements that stabilize the polyA tails of many cellular RNAs by isolating them in RNA triplex structures, thus conferring stability.
