Lead Tetra Tech/MSI’s leadership, learning, and organizational development practice area. Direct a portfolio of up to 10 training, OD and communications support projects totaling $20 million. Oversee up to 20 OD and training professionals and consultants. Develop business by leading major proposal efforts related to environment, humanitarian assistance, global health and other areas, and networking and partnering for new business opportunities. Served as program director for a $15 million blanket purchase agreement and $8 million central call order to build USAID staff capabilities in science, technology, innovation, and partnerships. Led a team of adult learning specialists, trainers, and subject matter experts to co-create, design, and implement 18 in-person training sessions, nine virtual training sessions and workshops, two e-learning modules, nine webinars (for over 900 USAID and partner participants) and communities of practice as well as other communications activities. Served as technical director for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change contract for facilitation, training, and coaching services. Deliver strategic planning, OD, business process improvement, training, coaching, and other services to international clients. Engaged as an OD advisor for Bluetide Puerto Rico, facilitating an organizational design and review to support its strategic plan and implementation model for a blue economy and to promote the sustainable use of ocean resources. Engaged leadership and other stakeholders to formulate solutions and action steps to apply environmental nonprofit best practices and innovations for success. Conduct company-wide promotion, outreach, and thought leadership including engaging in events and producing thought pieces, such as “Scaling Up International Environment and Natural Resource Programs: Strategies and Approaches” and “Being Innovative in Government: How to Contribute Ideas that Stick.”

ABOUT JOHN HAECKER
I’m energized by new possibilities and finding better, more sustainable ways of working. Finding solutions to problems requires a fresh perspective and innovative thinking. Innovation can arise from novel ideas or the application of proven methods to new challenges. I’ve pursued opportunities to work at the nexus of environmental sustainability, organizational development, and human behavior. For instance, I helped the leadership of an NGO develop their organization to support a strategic plan and implementation model around a blue economy. I used an organizational framework for sustainability and growth to identify strengths and obstacles. Together, we formulated solutions and outlined next steps to implement best practices and innovations for success. With my collaborative approach, I’ve helped leaders develop strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and creativity. I’ve also encouraged pragmatic problem-solving and a grounding in principles and values. My approach emphasizes fostering effective processes to set the stage for exceptional outcomes. For my company, I spearheaded several multi-million dollar proposal efforts. Working with a team, I facilitated strong collaboration, cultivated positive relationships with partner organizations, and established high standards of excellence for the proposals. Clear values guided the process, and everyone on the team played a vital role. As a skilled collaborator, facilitator, and communicator, I’ve engaged executives and stakeholders at all levels to inspire commitments and action. Drawing on my background in psychology, economics, and coaching, my current focus is on how positive behaviors, peer-to-peer influence, and individual agency can empower people to make better choices for sustainability and the environment. When I was young, my most cherished memories revolved around spending time with my family and friends in nature—at the beach, in the woods, or even in my own backyard. These experiences instilled in me a profound appreciation for preserving the environment for present and future generations. This continues to shape my work and aspirations. My journey began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, where I taught biology and mathematics to rural village youth. Since then, I have had the privilege to have worked in over 40 countries across five continents. My commitment is to leverage my experience and knowledge to assist leaders, organizations, and individuals in developing innovative strategies, approaches, and behaviors, enabling them to make a positive impact toward a more sustainable world.
