About John Hackendahl

During my experience of pursuing a Bachelor\'s Degree in Risk Management at Penn State, I have stressed importance on staying involved through work experiences and clubs/organizations. This past summer, I had the privilege to intern in a Junior Broker role at Sands Investment Group. In this experience, I gained knowledge in the real estate field from experienced brokers and managers. I was able to communicate with potential customers, practice sales techniques and witness first-hand sales pitches and closings. Overall, the internship held a national contest for a mock sales pitch in which I placed second overall amongst all interns.Other workplace experience I have over the years are at SVN, Fred Beans Auto and several restuarants. I have a diverse background of workplace history and have developed many traits and skills through them. I consider myself to be coachable, communicative and ambitious.Certain clubs and organizations have been a part of my unique experience at Penn State and have built upon my skillset. I am involved in the Acacia Fraternity as a sustainability chair, which has given me many networking opportunities, relationships and most importantly: the ability to get involved with THON.
