About John Lynch
Looking for a software management position to build on my broad Computer Engineering background spanning hardware, drivers, system software, network processor coding and user interface (GUI and CLI) for embedded systems, communications systems, mobile, Linux/Unix and PCs. Roles as Principal Software Engineer, Technical Lead and Engineering Manager with experience successfully running projects that included international cross divisional/company teams. As technical lead have taken lead role from inception to delivery of products, including architecture, detailed design, coding, unit test, debugging, project scheduling and team coordination. Awarded 10 patents at Apple Computer for key developments around design of GeoPort technology including development of first soft modem and first digital camera, QuickTake, with Kodak Japan. Called back during iPhone/Android patent wars and appeared as lead witness in a two week trial in International Trade Court (convinced presiding judge to side with Apple Patent 6,343,263, Real-time signal processing system for serially transmitted data). Involved with Ethernet development from its inception, providing performance simulation of CSMA/CD vs Token Bus to original 802 committee, H/W board design, drivers and carrier Ethernet switch software development.
