ABOUT JOHN GOVEIA

John A. Goveia is President of Pacific Building Consultants, Inc. and Vice President of Technical Roof Services, Inc. and DNG GROUP, Inc in Concord California. has 43+ years experience in roofing and waterproofing involvement including apprenticeship and doing roofing and waterproofing for ~ 10 years. John holds a lifetime State Of California Community Colleges teaching credential for Roofing and Waterproofing and has worked on thousands of projects in his career. Since 1975, John has performed investigations, design, expert witness testimony encompassing roofing, waterproofing, sheet metal, injuries, death and worked with virtually all general types of low and steep sloped roofs and patio / deck / below grade waterproofing systems. John is a member of RCI, Inc,(formerly Roof Consultants Institute since 1992) and should receive his 25 year pin next year, National Roofing Contractors Assn.(since 1984) and RICOWI, Inc,(since 2004) a voluteer group that responds in the aftermath of hurricanes and hail events, as part of a team to observe and evaluate damaged roofs - for the betterment of the industry.Mr. Goveia assisted in the anchoring design and detailing for the City of Livermore initial pilot photovoltaic project and has special expertise in rooftop solar photovoltaic’s (PV), wind damage (tropical storms and hurricanes), building roof energy code compliance, hail/fire damage, roof collapse and leak problems.John has worked on approximately 40 historic projects, with prestigious projects such as San Francisco City Hall with copper roofing, Coit Tower leakage and Frank Lloyd Wrights’ designed Marin Civic Center and Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium and many UC Berkeley projects including South Hall\'s slate roofing.
