About John Giduck

Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Penn State, law degree from the University of Denver, Master degree in Russian Studies from the University of Colorado, which included the Russian Culture and Language Program at the Smolniy Institute of St. Petersburg State University in Russia. Thesis addressed the history of Russian Organized Crime, current criminal enterprises and their impact on U.S. businesses. Developed and taught the first college accredited course on Russian Organized Crime in the U.S. through the Criminal Justice Department of Metropolitan State University of Denver, and led a group of U.S. criminal justice students and law enforcement professionals on a month-long program on Russian law enforcement and intelligence in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tallinn, Estonia, which included lectures in and a tour of the KGB’s Lubyanka headquarters. In 2011, received a Ph.D. in Middle East Studies from Kings College London. Dissertation was on the evolution of jihadist terrorist mass-hostage siege tactics throughout the world. In the past was a panel expert on Russia and Russian Organized Crime at several World Affairs Conferences. Lectured and consulted on Russian Organized Crime, and Terrorism and Global Organized Crime, to many law enforcement associations and agencies around the United States. Have provided training and lectures on various aspects of jihadist terrorism to numerous federal and state agencies, as well as private security organizations, SWAT teams, police departments, and several U.S. military units including the 10th Special Forces Group and Delta Force (CAG). Currently serve as an adjunct professor at several universities teaching criminal justice and homeland security courses at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels, in addition to continuing to provide consulting to various organizations and maintaining a limited law practice for select clients. In 2017 was named Distinguished Faculty of the Year (DFOY) in Doctoral Studies at Colorado Technical University. In 2020 was a finalist for the DFOY award, again in Doctoral Studies. Also in 2020, joined the Board of Directors of the American Counterterrorism Targeting & Resilience Institute.

    Teaching doctoral level homeland security, disaster preparedness and management, and ethics courses for doctoral candidates in the Homeland Security Program, Doctor of Management School. Teach additional courses in Criminal Justice Doctorate Program. Also serve as mentor to candidates through the dissertation process.Selected as 2017 Distinguished Faculty in Doctoral Studies for Inspiring Success in Students. In 2020, was a finalist for the Distinguished Faculty of the Year in Doctoral Studies award.
