About John Jack Geruc
I’m Jack Geruc, a Political Science and Philosophy student with a passion for exploring the complex interplay between the two fields. Philosophically, this looks like examining theories of world order, national/global phenomena, and normative governance. Political science has equipped me with the ability to take these theories off paper and apply them to the real world and how that may cement theories or suggest an alternative. My academic journey has equipped me with the skills to analyze complex systems and data, engage in rigorous debate and research, and approach societal challenges with a global and ethical perspective.Through my studies, I find extreme engagement with constructions of personhood, identity, reality, and human/civil rights. This is in a constant effort to understand the dominant structures and mindsets within our world and how they interact with our material conditions, at the most fundamental level. Within my work experience, I find a lot of interest within the fields of non-profit work and higher education. Both of these fields have given me the ability to explore areas of interest within my degree studies while also making sustainable impacts on the lives of other people. I’m driven by a desire to contribute to meaningful, long-term change.Outside of academics, I enjoy picking up a book by one of my favorite philosophers and attempt to apply their theories within my own life\'s practices, whether that\'s a material change I can make or just a shift in mindset. I’m eager to connect with professionals, thinkers, and organizations dedicated to advancing justice, equity, and innovative solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.
