ABOUT JOHN-GEORGE WILLIS
I formerly led the Corporate law team at Tughans (latterly with the additional role of Senior Partner at the firm) acting for a range of domestic and multinational corporations in private equity investment/M&A transactions across a range of sectors including engineering, construction, agribusiness and food, technology and energy. In each of my last 4 years as Head of Corporate, the Corporate team at Tughans topped the Experian league table for notifiable transactions among Northern Irish law firms with, on average, 32% of transactions. I am currently a Chair/non-executive director on boards of companies based in Ireland and the United Kingdom where my role is to oversee corporate governance/board composition/implementation of board best practice and positioning the corporates for IPO/disposal to private equity/trade buyers/major refinancing. My experience as a senior Corporate lawyer in Belfast has allowed me to develop the required skills and judgement to deliver on these objectives for the right businesses.
