ABOUT JOHN FRANKELIS

Nurse Manager, and Leader, with over 16 years of proven experience in achieving outstanding metrics through the use of efficiencies and quality improvements utilizing EBPs. I am a transparent and transformational leader with excellent communication skills with an emphasis on mentoring future leaders. I\'m also an effective public-facing point person for patients, family members, as well as providers. Tech savvy and efficiency-focused, along with strong advocacy skills encompassing both staff and patients.As the former Patient Care Director at the Hospital for Special Surgery\'s Ambulatory Surgery Center of Manhattan, I was responsible for leading and managing the clinical operations of the OR, PACU, Holding, and Call Center departments. I have over 15 years of experience in orthopedic nursing, and I hold the Orthopedic Nurse Certified (ONC) credential, which demonstrates my expertise and commitment to this specialty.My mission is to provide the highest quality of care to our patients, who undergo more than 3,800 procedures annually at our state-of-the-art facility. I strive to create a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration among our staff, who are the backbone of our success. Some of my achievements include expanding the staff to meet the growing demand, developing digital patient education tools, implementing changes to the discharge process that improved outcomes, and increasing cross-training and flexibility of the workforce. I am also proud to be part of the startup team that launched HSS\' first offsite ambulatory surgery center in 2017.
