The Borders Distillery Company Limited owns and operates the first Malt Scotch Whisky distillery opened in the Scottish Borders since 1837. The four co-founders identified the opportunity, raised capital in the markets and started distilling in March 2018. In addition to Single Malt Scotch Whisky the company makes Kerr\'s Gin and Puffing Billy Vodka entirely at the distillery using malted barley exclusively from the Borders.The distillery is proud to be a founder of Borders Growers and Distillers and of Famously Hawick, a community interest company founded to welcome visitors.

The Borders Distillery Company Limited was founded to build a distillery in the Scottish Borders. The distillery was installed in the fully renovated former premises of the Hawick Urban Electric Company, opened in 2018 and in 2019 was awarded the Civic Trust Award for the built environment. Borders Malt & Rye is the first Scotch Whisky distilled in the Borders since 1837. See for more information.
