Senior Counsel with extensive experience providing legal guidance for a wide variety of intellectual property law matters including building patent portfolios, enforcing those patents in support of freedom of action and income generation, providing advice and counsel in support of product development and clearance, negotiating strategic technology license and joint development alliances, defending against assertions of infringement of third party intellectual property rights, supporting due diligence for divested business units and due diligence and integration of acquired companies, clearance of open source software for production use, and IP policy advocacy in patent and copyright matters. As a member of IBM\'s IP leadership team I have helped develop and implement strategies that have enabled IBM\'s 22nd year of leadership in US patent issuance.
