ABOUT JOHN FLAHERTY

I have worked in a Health & Social Care setting now for over sixteen years. During this time I have gained valuable knowledge and a measurable skill set encompassing several different client groups; These include: Severe and enduring mental illness from an employment support perspective, Learning Disabilities with challenging behaviour, Individuals with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and Forensic Rehabilitation aimed at individuals with a mental health diagnosis and forensic history-within the parameters of a low secure setting. I also work closely with partner agencies and non-statutory organisations on a daily basis to reach a person-centred common goal. I believe in the strengths of a team and feel pooling skills and abilities improve the chances of a positive outcome for the individuals we support. I have developed effective working relationships with stakeholders and feel I am able to encourage, inspire, and support improvement. Currently acting as Service Manager for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trusts Work your Way IPS Service, managing three IPS Teams that operate in secondary care county wide.
