About John Ferriera
Hi! I\'m a fourth-year student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst pursuing a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on the Pre-Med track. I am currently completing my Honors Thesis as a member of the Farkas Research Group, leveraging nanobodies as novel molecular tools to study core circadian protein interactions. I have extensive experience working with and advocating for the community of people with neurological and developmental disabilities. I have provided respite care for several children with autism, and I coordinate site visits between UMass students and people with disabilities from the Amherst area as a Supervisor for The Boltwood Project. I currently work as an EMT with UMass EMS and a Medical Assistant at University Health Services. These clinical experiences have reinforced my love for healthcare, and I hope to draw on my respite care and Boltwood experiences to one day provide individualized primary care. I am currently seeking research, clinical, volunteer, and shadowing opportunities. Please reach out and connect!
