1 Prepare casting commodity strategy. Do supplier mapping, be familiar with supplier casting line and machining equipment; Do commodity mapping, be familiar with commodity, reduction rear box shell and planet carrier; Analysis customer demanding, and got PNs which are under supply risk; Per the business needs and current commodity condition to choose suitable supplier for new projects, develop second source for current materials, and develop new supplier sources.2 Search and screen new suppliers, including resin sand casting, automatic line casting supplier, lost foam casting for reduction gears. The materials are including ductile iron and gray iron.3 Introduce new supplier onboard. Prepare the new supplier development plan, and responsible for the development schedule. 4 Supplier phase out for quality issues, delivery problem, and commercial items. Draw out phasing out plan, switch PNs to other suppliers smoothly. Maintain supplier relationship carefully during the transition phase and ensure stable supply. 5 Project management. Before new project release to supplier, organize technical review meeting among supplier, technical engineer, QC, SQ.6 Supplier capacity analysis and check, and ensure stable and timely supply to satisfy the production demand. If capacity issue risk, persuade suppliers to invest more machines to increase capacity or ensure outsource ready. 7 Annual cost down, Yearly PVO forecast, CAPEX budget. Planning and execution cost reduction projects, including annually cost reduction through negotiation, switching to new source and localization. 8 Coordinate with supplier about quality issue solving, for example PPL concentricity issue, PPL break apart, housing offset, gear box leaking oil. 9 Daily activities: RFQ, prepare contract, release & track sample PO, expedite production order, sample PN payment, tooling payment, claim payment.
