At Ransom Everglades, John serves as a faculty member in the Humanities Department. John helped develop and serves as the section lead teacher for the signature Advanced American Studies program, a class co-taught by a History and Literature teacher that takes a cultural studies approach to expose students to the history, literature, visual art, architecture, and music of the United States. In the three years the course has run, Advanced American Studies has met rave reviews from students and parents. On the most recent AP U.S. History exam, Advanced American Studies students earned a 100% pass rate. At Ransom Everglades School, John also teaches AP World History, and has also taught U.S. History. In addition to teaching, John has also coached the boys and girls middle school swim teams to several middle school championships and serves as the sponsor for the Politics & Current Events Club.
