ABOUT JOHN CANILA
As a student in the Occupational Health and Safety Management Program at Lambton College, I have learned the fundamentals of Occupational, Environmental, and Process Management System. Since January of 2020, I have been working at Senyorita Filipino Streetfoods in Toronto. I considered it the right place to gain experience as they prioritize job enlargement. My fundamental knowledge in risk management was utilized, especially during this pandemic, where measures and controls should increase the employees\' safety and customers. My future goal is to become an Environmental Health and Safety Officer in a highly hazardous workplace. Challenges always motivate me to work and get the job done timely and correctly by prioritizing tasks, creating short-term and long-term S.M.A.R.T goals, and team collaboration. During my experience as a Physiotherapist in the Philippines, I have developed interpersonal skills such as persuasion, teamwork, active listening, emotional intelligence, presentation, verbal and non-verbal communication. In combination with my current program and work experience, I can be a strong candidate for various Health and Safety Industry industries. With my passion and engagement in this program, I will continue improving my knowledge and skills in health and safety, even if this program ends.
