About John Oreilly

I\'m the fourth generation within my family to work in the retail industry. Dating back to my great grandfather\'s butcher shop in Springfield, Illinois, my family has always been focused on serving the community and their Customers.Today, I\'ve turned my focus to bringing innovative technology to market that help retailers better serve their communities and their Customers. While not the same as selling T-bone or ground chuck, the roots are common.I\'ve had the opportunity to work for retail technology companies both big and small. As a co-founder in a tech startup that grew to over 100 employees and ended in a successful exit, I was able to revolutionize how retailers plan, execute, and measure all Customer promotional and marketing activities.After Aptaris was acquired by dunnhumby, I was surrounded by groundbreaking Customer science, new technology platforms across all areas of retail, and a company purpose driven to build Customer-1st organizations while constantly rethinking and improving upon the Customer experience through data. In my current role at Google, I\'m now on the cutting edge of AI & data. Helping Tier 1 Retailers future-proof their businesses & creating competitive advantages through innovative technology to better serve their Customers.Through these experience, I\'ve had the opportunity to partner with hundreds of retail and CPG companies around the globe, have had various speaking engagements, articles published, long dinner discussions with friends, and ultimately had an opportunity to participate in the future of the grocery and retail industry.As someone with a passion for thinking differently through technology, data, and innovation - I couldn\'t be prouder to follow in my families footsteps.
