ABOUT JOHN DUMONCEAUX

I have been in the non-profit sector for almost two decades, starting with The Arthritis Society in 2007. From this start I moved on to the post-secondary fundraising field, starting as a mat-leave cover with Sponsorship, and working up to Senior Development roles at SAIT and Mount Royal University. Currently working at Hull Services, first as a Major Gift Officer at the height of COVID in 2021, then promoted to Director, Development & Community Engagement in July of 2022. I have volunteered for many years and roles with AFP Calgary and Area; Volunteer Chair for the National Philanthropy Day luncheon, in-person webinar host for many years, and four years as Chair on the Generosity of Spirit Jury. Currently I sit on the AFP Board as Treasurer. When not helping out with AFP Calgary, I volunteer for the Calgary Stampede Parade Committee. Starting in 1989 as a Street Marshal, I have volunteered the last 35 years with the parade, currently Chair of Hosting, managing a team which serves, burgers, beers, and flapjacks to over 7,500 people each year to kickoff the Stampede Parade. I am a 35+ year volunteer with the Calgary Police Service and their Volunteer Resource Unit, and 20 years of volunteerism with a number of Calgary’s iconic road races. I was awarded my CFRE in 2013, due in no small part to the expert mentorship of Vincent Duckworth, and is forever proud of a White Hatter Award from 1989. An avid outdoor enthusiast, I have run 47 marathons and counting.
