I currently work as Chief Executive Officer for The Writers\' Union of Canada, providing professional development, government relations and advocacy for over 2600 Canadian authors. I am chair of the International Authors Forum, serving authors worldwide. I have been a professional freelance writer for over thirty years, working for Canada\'s newspapers and arts and culture magazines. I am a published poet and novelist. My 2006 novel, The Uninvited Guest, was shortlisted for Amazon.ca\'s First Novel Award. I speak and write regularly about copyright issues related to writing and publishing. I have a very active blog focused on writing and publishing issues.
