ABOUT JOHN DAVIES

I have over 30 years of experience, predominantly in the water industry, working initially on sewer flooding and UID schemes, sewer requisitions and new developments, in later years transitioning onto water and wastewater treatment schemes and potable water pipelines. Most recently I have worked on river flood defence schemes. I have a wide experience of- initial assessments, feasibility studies and options appraisal reports- value management studies, design reviews, constructability reviews, option appraisal workshops- programming, risk assessments, pre tender & construction phase health and safety plans- detailed surveys including sewer entries and flow monitoring- hydraulic and water quality modelling and UPM river impact assessments- detailed design of sewerage network pipelines, CSO’s, pumping stations, hydraulic structures, shafts, tunnels & headings; WwTW inlet works, primary and secondary settlement tanks, distribution chambers & process pipework; large diameter water network pipelines; flood defence walls & embankments, cut-offs, flood gates & pumping stations- contract document preparation and tendering- site supervision as an Engineer’s Representative, ECC Supervisor and ECC Project Manager- financial control of contracts up to settlement of final accountsI also have experience on a major urban tunnel scheme undertaking damage assessments of existing assets and coordinating the design and procurement of diversions to statutory undertaker’s apparatus.
