About John Daniszewski

A 40-year news professional who has reported from more than 70 countries and led the global news gathering of The Associated Press, I serve as a board member and consultant advocating for media freedom and journalistic excellence. I retired as AP\'s Vice President and Editor at Large for Standards, working with journalists and editors around the world to ensure the highest levels of media ethics and fairness. My expertise includes news management, international affairs, press freedom, journalism ethics, conflict reporting, mentorship and journalist safety. I serve as president of the Overseas Press Club Foundation, which assists in mentoring the next generation of international correspondents. I am member of the board of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and the International Press Institute (IPI), where I chair the North American Committee. I am a former co-chair of the Pulitzer Prizes and served on the board for nine years. A current board member of the International Center for Journalists, I also am a founder of the Culture of Safety (ACOS) Alliance. I am a graduate of the Sulzberger Media Leadership Program at Columbia University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
