About John Damico
I am currently employed as a Sr. Tooling Engineer working for the Corning Life Science Division. I was hired in 2011 as a Molding Engineer and have been given the oppertunity to grow myself. As an employee with Corning I focus on quality, and integrity. I completed my B.S.E in Plastics Engineering in May 2011 at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Once I had completed my B.S.E. I had decided to work at Corning Life Science and attend evening classes at the University of Massachusetts Lowell to complete my M.S.E. by May 2012.My work experience has been provided by University of Massachusetts Lowell, Vector Controls Inc. and Corning Life Sciences. My experience from Vector Controls was an engineering position that began in December of 2005 and I have designed and machined components for boats. I have had extensive experience machining, and assembling mechanical components as well as designing and creating drawings. This is a small company environment. Corning has allowed me to work with Injection Molding machines, Extruders, and various types of molds. As a molding engineer/tooling engineer I was responsible for validating new resins, new molds and introducing new technology for current and new products. I was responsible for evaluating materials for new products being brought into the plant. As well as setting up processes for new and current products within the facility. I supported manufacturing on a day to day basis as well. I held multiple supervisor roles one of which I led the Molding Engineering team in one of the Corning Life Science facilities. I was responsible for the team, and all the molding machines, molds, and new equipment for the plant.
