Right now, I manage a $75M grant portfolio dedicated to cultivating meaning, purpose, awe and wonder, and intellectual humility. Our projects ask questions like: What does it mean to be human? Where did we come from? Where we are going? What can we learn about the natural world? How can we flourish in the modern world?I direct investments in media projects (podcasts, documentary films, online videos, festivals), thought leadership (experts learning to communicate with non-experts), and higher education (meaning and purpose for undergraduates).Before that, I mentored students at the University of Pennsylvania in leadership development and character formation. Before that, I studied theological ethics because I read Stanley Hauerwas and wanted to think about how we can live well in the world.Before that, I studied construction management because I read Jane Jacobs. I still really like Jane Jacobs.
