Energy-related consumer products and conversion devices (presently engines, coolers, etc, especially Stirling and thermoacoustic types) Previously cellular and other window shade products; fuel cells, webhandling equipment. BSME, MSME. Member ASME, SAE, ASA, LES, ASHRAE. Granted more than 60 US patents so far, many with international equivalents: more than half have been put into use in successful commercial products.From April 2011, VP for Innovation then VP, R&D from January 2017, both at Chart Biomedical, until early retirement April 2017;(previously President of CFIC, Inc. maker of Qdrive cryocoolers (sold and merged into Chart) & more previously Director of R&D for Comfortex Corp.), Also International consulting engineer for multiple engine & refrigeration companies in US, Asia, Europe and leading Venture Capital firms. Earlier professional roles include Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Union College, Senior Design Engineer at Mechanical Technology, Inc.Career Goals: 1) Develop and commercialize many cool things of great use. 2) Save more energy by my work than I consume by existing. 3) Waste no time.Specialties: technology & product development, licensing of intellectual property, energy conversion systems, especially Stirling and thermoacoustic devices and cycles.
